There are So Many Formats… What Do I Do?
Don’t worry if your drowning in the confusing format world. Here is a life preserver to save you.
MPEG-4 (MP4) is the most commonly used audio and video format on the planet and is compatible with Macs and PCs. This is your top choice for those of you who are using a PC.
Windows Media Player (WMV): This is the norm if you have a PC and does not work well if you use a Mac.
Quicktime (MOV): This is the highest quality format and is the top choice if you have a Mac. It you have a PC you will have to install Quicktime.
480p: It’s Standard Definition (SD), 4:3 aspect ratio, 640 pixels by 480 pixels. It’s like watching a regular square TV. This is not widescreen though some of our SD files are made to look widescreen with a black letterbox.
720p: It’s High Definition (HD), 16:9 aspect ration, 1280 pixels by 720 pixels. It’s like watching a widescreen movie.
